Legislation

The AGLC operates in accordance with:

• the Gaming and Liquor Act
• the Gaming and Liquor Regulation, and
• the Criminal Code of Canada

The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission also:

• enforces certain aspects of the Tobacco Tax Act under a Memorandum of Understanding with Alberta Finance who administers the Act, and
• licences all racing entertainment centers located at racetracks under the authority of the Horse Racing Alberta Act.
